Aspecte ale politicii României în sud-estul Europei sub guvernarea Armand Călinescu

  • Subiect: Aspects of Romania’s Policy in Southeastern Europe Under The Armand Călinescu Government The Armand Călinescu government coincided with a very tumultuous period on the European stage, culminating with the outbreak of the Second World War. These developments also affected the Balkan Peninsula, “the powder keg”, or, more accurately, the seismograph of the old continent. In this paper we intend to present some aspects of the Romanian policy in Southeastern Europe in the period March September 1939. Our analysis has concentrated, mostly, on the Romanian-Bulgarian relations, taking into account the strategic position of the Bulgarian state in Central Balkans and the Romanian-Bulgarian territorial dispute over Southern Dobrudja.
