File din istoria Piteştiului, în a doua jumătate a secolului al XIX-lea

  • Subiect: Tabs in the History of Piteşti in the Second Half of the 19th Century The location of Piteşti on the right bank of the Argeş River, at its confluence with the Doamnei River, has conditioned the longitudinal development of the settlement, along the river, extended then on the South terraceses. Piteşti development was encouraged, among otheres, by its geographic location, at the intersection of the paths of communication that went north towards the Transylvanian towns of Sibiu and Braşov, in the south towards Bucharest and from here across the Danube, in the Balkan Peninsula. If in the medieval period, with the exception of the 16th century, when it served as the Royal residence, the settlement had a modest development, starting with the 18th-century Piteşti, along with economical advancement, it is stated in terms of urban planning.
