  • Subiect: Restoration of the Flag of Transmissions Regiment no. 1, Md. 1922 - Case Study The restoration procedures and techniques did not endanger the physical and informational integrity of the flag as they are reversible and nondestructive. Following the cleaning treatment with Radix Saponariae decoction solution, the silk was hydrated, the absorption capacity of the fibers increased, the strong creases and folds disappeared, the flag returned to its original shape, by largely eliminating the shape deformations, and the fibers of the silk fabric relaxed. Before arriving in the museum, the flags had a well-defined function, they were functional, worn on the battlefield, outdoors, in bad weather, undergoing temperature and humidity variations and all these factors have a strong impact on the flag.
