Repatrierea de către Germania a ultimilor militari polonezi refugiaţi în România (28 august 1940 – 4 februarie 1941)

  • Subiect: The Repatriation in Poland, by German Authorities, of the Last Polish Soldiers Who Were Refugees in Romania (28th of August, 1940 – 4th of February, 1941) Between August 28, 1940 and February 4, 1941, as a consequence of the first request of the German Army Command, Romanian authorities initiated the first steps to repatriate in Germany-occupied Poland the last Polish soldiers who were refugees in Romania. Following the German request, on 4th of February, 1941, under the supervision of the German Battalion 514, commanded by major Wolman Fritz, some Polish soldiers were sent back in their country: - from Cornetu Rail Station, next to Călimăneşti, the Polish soldiers, who were hospitalized in Călimăneşti Camp, were boarded on a train – 1041 officers and 21 soldiers, among them Major General Litwinowicz, former vice-minister of the Ministry of National Defence; - from Cărbuneşti Rail Station, next to Târgu-Jiu, the Polish soldiers, who were hospitalized in Târgu-Jiu camp, were boarded on a train (47 officers and 644 soldiers).
