O contramarcă de la Histria pe o monedă emisă la Sardes, Lydia / An Istros countermark on a coin issued in Sardes, Lydia

Subiect: In this paper is presented a coin issued by city Sardes (Lydia) in the centuries II-I BC. The coin features an interesting countermark, type „four-spoke wheel”, attributed, long ago, to the city of Istros. The countermark „four-spoke wheel” has previously appeared on only five coins, all of them being monetary issues of the „scythian” king Kanites, of type „head of Heracles/bow and club”. The coins of the „scythian” king Kanites, widely are dated during the second and first centuries BC. Questions generated by these first observations are numerous and they have generated passionate and exciting discussions.
