Bistriţa medievală sub influenţa Reformei (sec. XV-XVI)

  • Subiect: By the end of the 14th century, the medieval synthesis prescribed by the religion, started decaying faced to the Humanism proposed by the Italian Renaissance. The Reform came into being in the very moment when the vital need of another type of communication with God was felt, a vital need to reform the Christian living patterns of the Meddle Ages. In the same time with the great progresses of the 15th-16th century medicine, the Renaissance humanism will influence healthcare. Although the immediate results were not spectacular, still, the intervened changes will become the basis of the modern community health. By the end of the 15th century in Bistriţa, as in all the other important cities in Transylvania, medicine was practiced by barbers, surgeons and doctors. These will, step by step, take over the place of healers, whose practice will start decaying, a common phenomenon highly visible by the end of the 17th century.
