Recuperarea Ungariei: eliberarea Budei şi medaliile celebrative emise. Studiu iconografic

  • Subiect: The unsuccessful second siege of Vienna by the Turks in 1683 started the Great Turkish War (1662-1699), an imperial campaign for the re-conquest of Hungary. The Battle of Buda was fought between the Holy League and Ottoman Turkey: after a long siege the Holy League took Buda. One of the propaganda instruments in the Great Turkish War was the medal art. Fifteen medals in the medal collection of the National History Museum of Transylvania from Cluj-Napoca were chosen to present the way the Habsburg's have perceived their victory at Buda in 1686.
