Contribuţia revistei "Arhiva Someşană" (1924-1940) la cunoaşterea istoriei poporului român

  • Subiect: At the beginning of this work are depicted the historical circumstances which encouraged the publication of such a review at Năsăud, a provincial town which became already, at the middle of the previous century, because of the militarization of that country side, the most important cultural centre of north-east Transilvania. In this place were founded renowned schools, supported through the income of some estates and currency funds being in the common property of the frontier localities. From such incomes were granted scholarships to certain frontier guard's sons with good results at learning, for carrying on their higher studies at various universities. As a result of such auspicious circumstances, at Năsăud and other environs was set up a pleiad of intellectuals, especially teaching staff, who developed a constant activity on the historical and cultural field. The publication of the Arhiva someşană review at Năsăud, in 1924, marked the continuation of an older tradition in researching and popularization of history and culture of the Romanian people, in the conditions of absolute freedom which characterized the period between World War I and World War II. Within the framework of this work are depicted and analysed the most significant studies, articles and documents regarding the history of that countryside, of the peripheral regions, and also those that referred to the history of the entire Romanian people and published in the pages of the 27 numbers of the review that appeared between 1924 and 1940. They dwell upon major themes concerning the history of Romania, from scientific positions, contributing to clear them up and to combat the unscientific and tendentious theories regarding the history of the Romanian people, theories which were elaborated and upheld by certain foreign historians. In this way, the Arhiva someşană review contributed to spread between masses of readers the knowledge concerning the history of the Romanian people, being today an indispensable source to the researchers belonging to this domain.
