Din activitatea lui Dimitrie Moldovan după 1863. Participarea la Dieta de la Sibiu

  • Subiect: The beginning of the liberal period brought in the limelight elements belonging to the Romanian national movement. D. Moldovan was one of these Romanian politicians whose rising concerning work means one of the first steps in the process of laicisation of the leadership of the Romanian national movement. D. Moldovan was born in Deva and studied in Zlatna, Sibiu, Viena and Schemnitz. The year 1848 marked his return to Transylvania, in the political life. He was preoccupied with this region’s constitutional past and present, with the inhabitants’ of Apuseni Mountains daily needs and he ascertained the needs of reforms. He had different roles in the hierarchy of the empire, hoping he could use his situation in order to help the Romanian people’s cause. Being very much involved in helping the cause of the Romanian people, he will use any opportunity to contribute to the improvement of the Romanian people situation in the empire. D. Moldovan was a personality who was interested in the pressing needs and in the Romanian people’s aspirations for freedom in the Habsburg Empire.
