Materiale aparţinînd culturii Coţofeni descoperite la Reghin-Iernuţeni (jud. Mureş)

  • Subiect: The aim of this paper is to present the first certain Coţofeni material discovered in the proximity of Reghin city (in the north side of Mureş county). The Coţofeni pottery from Reghin-Iernuţeni generally belongs to coarse ware species (the fine ceramic represents only 1 %). The presence of the Baden influences in the Coţofeni pottery from the north-eastern region of Transylvania is sustained by a bowl fragment from Batoş-Gledinel (Mureş district) (pl. XI/ 1) and by other details of the pottery decoration from Reghin-Iernuţeni (pl. IV/4; VI/2, 11; VII/12). Some of the few elements, as the location of the material from Reghin-Iernuţeni in the low altitude of the Mureş valley, the presence of Baden influences, together with the decoration manner of the pottery, suggests the existence in this place of a settlement from the beginning of the second phase from the Coţofeni cultural evolution.
