Despre o jumătate de tipar bivalv, din bronz, pentru turnat fibule, prin metoda cerii pierdute

  • Subiect: In the summer of 2003 during the archaeological excavations from Porolissum (Moigrad village locality of Mirşid, Sălaj County), within the building LM3 of the civilian settlement belonging to the fort from the Pomet Hill (Fig. 1) one of the halves coming from a bivalve bronze mould was found. It has been used for the cast of brooches in the "lost wax" technology. The mould is made of cast bronze (Fig. 2) and represents the main "tool" in the casting process of the wax model. The type of the artefact produced in this mould is the brooch of T -shape, the variant with button on the head and a long and wide catch plate. Such type of brooches, not necessarily cast in this mould are quite numerous at Porolissum.
