Societatea românească orăştiană pînă la Unirea din 1918

  • Subiect: Orăştie was one of the most illustrative towns in Transylvania for illustrating the "migration" process on the one hand and the economic and cultural development of the people within the "fortress". The Romanians have had - step by step - a proper economic life based on Romanian financial investment. They had created specific frameworks so as their institution should be competitive in the "economic" struggle to those of Hungarians and local Germans in Orăştie. Their attention is also kept by cultural life. As a consequence, Romanians from Orăştie had their own banks (Ardeleana-1885, Dacia-1901), partnerships (Economic Reunion-1889, Burial Reunion-1898, Chorus, Minerva Printing Institute-a stock institution, Cow Owners Reunion, Romanian Casina); they published newspapers and magazines (Revista Orăştiei, Bunul Econom, Activitatea, Libertatea, Tovărăşia, Cosânzeana and so on).
