Materiale preistorice de la Tîrgu-Mureş "Cetate" - III

  • Subiect: The settlement from Tg-Mureş - "Cetate" is not unknown in the appropriate literature of specialty being mentioned by V. Lazăr who gave the complete bibliographical list about this settlement in his Repertory. In 1963 a systematic research took place at Târgu Mureş, at the point called "Cetate". There were discovered layers of the Criş, Coţofeni and Wietenberg cultures. The archaeological materials belonging to different historical periods were presented separately by us, because this method offers a larger and better possibility of analysis of the collected material. The archaeological material mentioned by A Bogdan like the one collected from the layer of Wietenberg culture, of the aforementioned settlement, contains ceramics from the Early Bronze Age, too. The discovered archaeological material can be included in the phase III of the Early Bronze Age. This archaeological material from Tg-Mureş - "Cetate" seems to illustrate the most northern station (known until today) an inflowing way, used by the villagers of the Besenstrich und textilmuster horizon in their penetration process from Banat to Transylvania.
