Surse documentare privitoare la celebrarea centenarului naşterii lui Ion Creangă (Humuleşti, 1937)

  • Subiect: March 1st 1937 marked the 100th anniversary from the birth of the writer Ion Creangă. On that occasion, in the Humuleşti village, a series of events were organized to celebrate the moment. The author of the article brings into discussion different aspects of the cultural activities organized on that occasion by using archival documents. A collection of documents consisting of letters, telegrams, addresses, local or issued by different institutions (the Royal House, the Ministry of National Education) was analyzed. There were sent over 140 invitations to the events organized in Humuleşti. Conferences and shows were held and the house where Ion Creangă was born was visited. At the same time a small museum dedicated to the writer was opened.
