Strecurători ceramice preistorice

  • Subiect: Archaeological research sometimes unveils remains whose everyday destination is unknown, yet. In most cases due to their resemblance to objects whose usage is well established they were classified into the same functional category. This is also the case of some important cult objects which were labelled as strainers. The formal analysis as to the particular shape of such objects as well as their stylistic and typological comparison to samples which in other cultural and civilization areas (Egypt, Mesopotamia, Phoenicia) have a cultural destination give us the right to functionally single then out in this case as well. Thus when we can distinguish between the mere strainers and the cult objects which we call ritual incensors. As far as the area of the neo-Eneolithic on the Romanian territory the discovered ritual incensors covered chronologically approx. 1500 years that is from the middle Neolithic up to the dawn of the Bronze Age. The existing ties with the Orient entitle thus of thing of genetic relationship between the discoveries both civilization areas. Finally, we would like to print out that the new classification greatly increases the historical value of such discoveries. They give us important insights of the ritual practices which in turn, show a certain level of the religious ideas and forms as well as the circulation thereof over large geographical areas.
