Cisterne descoperite în zona capitalei regatului dac

  • Subiect: In the Orăştiei Mountains area were discovered pits for water collection that come from precipitation, as well as water tanks supplied by a permanent source of water. Works belonging to the first category were discovered at Costeşti-Cetăţuie and Luncani - Piatra Roşie. The pit discovered on the west side of the first fortress was lined with wood. Referring to the tanks, we can specify that regarding the construction system, they are divided into two categories: built according to Vitruvius' precepts - that of Costeşti-Blidaru – and those made in a so called barbarian technique - the ones from Costeşti Pârâul Chişetoarei and Sarmizegetusa Regia. The differences between the two consist of the different nature of the materials that were used. If stone and mortar were used for the one from Costeşti-Blidaru, for the other two oak was used for the first one and larch tree (a conifer oak), for the second one. In exchange, the techniques of collecting and lodging water were the same.
