Ioan Maiorescu. Profesorul şi omul politic

  • Subiect: Ioan Maiorescu is one the prominent personalities of the generation from 1848, occupying an important position in the context of the history and Romanian national culture. In 1836 Ioan Maiorescu, who was from Transylvania, entered the political circle of Ţara Românească. In Ţara Românească and Moldova, he will be remarked as a brilliant pedagogue and reorganizer of the educational system. During the revolution of 1848-1849, after he was part of a provisory committee in Ţara Românească, Ioan Maiorescu went to Frankfurt. There, following the diplomatic conduct, he started a sustained action, due to convince the German Parliament of the necessity to keep the independence of the Romanian Principalities and to constitute a Romanian state between the borders of the old Dacia.
