Subiect: Dr. Elie Miron Cristea paid special attention to the defense and the conservation of the Romanian educational confessional schools, at a time when the destructive effect of the school laws passed by count Apponyi was deeply felt. Miron Cristea's activity went to several directions: the defense and liberation of the (school) priest and of the teachers secluded or sent to camps for their political national behavior; the keeping of the autonomy of the two educational confessional institutes, the theological and the pedagogical ones from Caransebeş, the putting off of the school laws imposed by Apponyi and above all, the channeling of all the energies of the Romanians from Ardeal, towards the achieving of the state unity. The entire revolutionary movement from Ardeal, preceding the historical event of December 1st 1919, is connected with the name and the role played by the Orthodox Bishop Miron Cristea of Caransebeş.
