Stadiul cercetărilor privind istoria şi arheologia dacilor liberi din Crişana

  • Subiect: The author turns the literary knowledge to good as both epigraphic and numismatic data and especially the archaeological investigations regarding the Free Dacians of Roman epoch from Crişana. The most important are the archaeological results which have turned the Free Dacians' settlement of Roman epoch to the best account in the plain of Arad, the land of Zărand, along the Crişul Negru and Crişul Repede Rivers, in the region of Satu Mare along the Someş River, with their specific culture which was the continuation of the traditional Dacian culture but which was influenced by the material culture of the Roman Dacia. In the western part of Crişana, only in the plain area, penetrate towards the end of that epoch the Jazyg Sarmatians, while in the second part of the III-rd century and at the beginning of the IV-th century of our area penetrate in north-west Crişana some Germanic elements too. The author points out to the important results obtained by the Romanian archaeology studying this problem, especially in the last two decades of investigation.
