Lista tîrgurilor din Transilvania, Banat şi România (1852-1918)

  • Subiect: The author, who has been studying for several years the calendars appeared in Transylvania in the 19th century, dwelt this time upon the information they give on market towns. She has drawn up a detailed list of the market towns of the second half of the 19th century till 1918. The choice of this period is justified by the hampering of the circulation of wares on the Romanian territory, caused by the Customs Union with Austria in 1850, the Customs conventions with Romania in 1875 and 1891, as well as the so called Customs War between 1886-1891. Since the study deals with commercial intercourse all over the Romanian territory, the author included besides the list of the Transylvanian market towns those of Banat and Romania as well, proving in this way again the relationship between the Romanian countries. The study is a very useful instrument in the research of the economic history of Romania.
