Contribuţii noi cu privire la răsunetul răscoalei populare din 1784, în presa din Anglia, Cehia şi Germania

  • Subiect: The author tries to offer new contributions concerning the echo of the popular rebellion from 1784 in the European press. Among the researched periodicals there is to be found the paper "The Times", which started to come out January the 1st 1785 under the name , "The Daily Universal Register". Also, there have been researched papers from Prague, Hamburg, Halle, Leipzig, Loeban and Bautzen. The author concludes that even if the paper didn't identify itself with the programme of the rebels, it generally grasped the fact that the movements were provoked by the pitiless exploitation of the serfs by the nobility. They specify that the decisive role in the rebellion belonged to the Romanians which were militating for a free life, liquidating the exploiting nobility. The mentioned papers considered that the rebellion from 1784 was a movement of great size, with participation of several ten thousand people. Also, they specify that these events have been appreciated as movements of European importance.
