  • Subiect: The most powerful political event from the second half of the 20th century in Europe was the idea of national states foundation. This tendency was associated with the development and modernising of all the components of the national state's life; the foundation of the national state being an indispensable premises for modernisation. Even if there are disputes on the concept of modernisation, it is unquestionable that its main purpose invites to the analysis of a complex social, economic, cultural and political process, determining these changes, as to create a certain type of society and a specific behaviour in all the sectors of the social life. By this suggested topic, we attempted to analyse the way the modernisation process of the Transylvanian Romanian society, but not only, temporary integrated between the end of the l9th century and the beginning of the 20th century, is reflected in historiography. The present work outlined some of the main directions the historical research approached, as concerns the modernisation phenomenon. Meanwhile, it comes out the existence of an impressive number of studies, articles, an extensive historical, cultural, sociological, etc. literature devoted to the modernisation concept.
