As a result of the meeting that took place in Warsaw on May 21st between the tzar Nicholas I and the emperor Francisc Iosif, where the details of the Russian army intervention were discussed, the Russian offensive from Transylvania started at the beginning of June 1849. On August 13th, at Şiria, the Hungarian revolutionary army surrendered to the Russian army.
