Coordonate autoritariste în politica internă a regelui Carol al II-lea

  • Subiect: The twentieth century was marked by a series of historical processes that influenced in various ways the evolution of the world. Romania was no exception, the beginning of the century bringing to it national, cultural and political unity, while the middle of the century brought the setting up of communism. During the decade that followed the unification there were adopted some laws that removed the regional particularities, allowing the unitary development of economic, social and political structures of Romania. The most important law was the Constitution of 1923 that assured a continuity of democracy in Romania. This continuity was however broken in February 1938, when King Charles II passed a new Constitution which actually bears his name. The new Constitution consolidated by its stipulations, the role and the power of the king in the home political life. King Charles II ended Romanian democracy by establishing an authoritative political regime. The new political regime was characterized by the restriction of political rights and freedoms and by the increase of the influence and control exerted by the king in the political life. The year 1940 ended this situation. In September 6th 1940, Charles II was forced to abdicate, leaving the throne to his son, Michael I.
