  • Subiect: The Land of Woodsmen is a historic old area, the localities being knowns since the Middle Ages. The relief is mountainous, with many forests and little rivers. Villages are generally scattered. The work refers to the monographs of the localities Govăjdie, Cerişor, Lelese, Sohodol and Runcul Mare. The inhabitants are concerned with agriculture and animal husbandry. In majority, they are Romanian Orthodox. The localities have school, church, mill, sometimes medical dispensary. The houses are of wood with stone foundation. The food is poor and insufficient and the clothing is similar to that of the Dacians.
