Aşezări umane pe lunca Mureşului. Punct Uroi. Pod Mureş. Raport preliminar

  • Subiect: Dacian discoveries belonging to Roman times are the most important and largest part of the site. From these complexes was recovered a variety of specific Dacian archaeological material. Knowledge at the time prove the fact we may have to do with the presence of native settlements, created even with people brought from the mountains after the second war between Romans and Dacians. Perhaps there was an older part of the village, of the S of the road, which will undergo an expansion and further development to N. On Mureş side early medieval settlement site spans both the left and to the right of the road, continuing on private property. On the same part of the river I found parts of a fortification with palisade. Only a possible entry and groove wood were identified, but they do not help us much in dating. It would be conceivable that Bronze pieces come from here, but could be even an enclosure even for a Hallstatt settlement, too. Graves dating from the Roman and early medieval periods were excavated.
