Memoria revoluţionarului Nicolae Bălcescu pe meleaguri vîlcene

  • Subiect: Located on Topolog, in the hearth where comes from the origin of the family which gave one of the greatest revolutionary thinkers of the nation, the Memorial Museum „Nicolae Bălcescu” was and still remains a pilgrimage place for all lovers of history. Arranged in Bălcescu's mansion, the Memorial museum keeps the numberless memories of Nicolae Bălcescu's passing on these places. The collections (memorial, plastic and decorative art, documents) count over 15000 cultural and heritage goods. The exhibition remakes the epoch atmosphere. In the studies, in the literary salon, in the dining room or in the bedroom it seems that we can still hear the steps of Zinca Bălcescu and those of Nicolae's brothers and sisters and those of their offspring. The family portraits: Zinca, Nicolae Bălcescu, Maria Bălcescu, Nicolae and Zoe Mandrea, Radu Mandrea and other art works, Maria Bălcescu Geanoglu's bookcase, carpets from Oltenia, pottery made by the potters from Corbi village, ancient furniture pieces, entered a long time ago in the cultural patrimony, remind faces and attitudes of the persons who lived in the mansion. The historical themes, linked with Nicolae Bălcescu's personality, but also the artistic works of the artists participants at national picture campus „Art Campus”. In the documentary centre are kept rare copies of Romanian historiography, papers with francmason themes and ritual goods linked to secret services. In Bălceşti's hearth, in the village, named after the name of the greatest political and patriot man, the history and the legend, interweave into a genuine and exciting History lesson. Outstanding personalities – from State presidents and heads of the Church, to ordinary people – Romanians or foreigners, young and old tourists come in pilgrimage in this spiritual place of the nation, to pay tribute to him who burnt like an alive torch, the absolute expression of his generation thinking.
