Contribuţii la cunoaşterea unor paşoptişti musceleni, fraţii Turnavitu

  • Subiect: Further Information About the Turnavitu Brothers, Muscel County, who Participated to The Revolution From 1848 Because exists some information about the activity of the Turnavitu Brothers – Demostene, Scarlat, Ştefan – during the Revolution from 1848-1849, the present paper presents some aspects about their family. According to the census from 1838, their father, Grigore Turnavitu, lived in the village Budişteni which then belonged to Muscel County (today Leordeni, Argeş County). He was a member of an important family, being a freeholder. He had four children (Demostene, Scarlat, Ştefan and Pashal) and two girls (Zinca and Lina). Grigore Turnavitu was one of the richest persons in the village (two acres of corn, two acres of hay, two horses, 200 plum trees etc.
