Aspecte ale vieţii studenţeşti din Universitatea „Babeş-Bolyai” Cluj-Napoca în perioada 1959-1972 – Asociaţiile studenţeşti

  • Subiect: Like other universities in the country, the university from Cluj had as a fundamental mission the formation of „the new man'' with a good professional training, a man who had to represent the truth of the social humanism. Like every totalitarian state in the communist times. Romania students' life was strictly organized and supervised under all matters. An important form of enrolling and supervision was represented by the student associations. These were headed by the party organizations and were activating under the guidance of the U.T.M. (U.T.C since 1965). Student associations were dealing with all problems regarding student activity: education, educational work, homes, canteens, scholarships, free time, holidays, camps, trips and also misbehaviours. The propaganda and student associations’ targets were fighting against mysticism, Western movies and music by organizing symposiums about revolutionary traditions of the working class, knowing the harsh situation of the workers in bourgeois landowner time, cultivating the valuing of the socialist culture and economy. The patriotic education of the academicals youth under the leadership of the party organizations and the guidance of the U.T.M and A.S. organizations was to determine students „to value the revolutionary conquests and to prove their commitment to the construction of the socialist cause”.
