Brăţările de sticlă descoperite în cadrul cercetării arheologice din centrul oraşului Timişoara, Str. Lucian Blaga

  • Subiect: In 2014, the city of Timişoara benefited from a program for the rehabilitation of public spaces in the town centre. On this occasion, an extended research took place on the centre of the modern city, in the area located both within the medieval and post medieval fortress. Thus, the locations targeted by the archaeological research are Piaţa Unirii, Piaţa Libertăţii, Piaţa Sf. Gheorghe, Piaţa Ţarcului and the neighbouring streets among which Lucian Blaga Street. Here, they have been discovered structures and complexes dating especially during the Ottoman and Austrian rule of this city. Among the archaeological materials discovered on L. Blaga Street, there are also 20 fragments of glass bracelets. These findings are very important because they tell us about the private life of the inhabitants of the city and about the trade practiced between the city walls.
