Tribunul Mihai Lupu Hossu

  • Subiect: Mihai Hossu Lupu the Tribune of Romanian Legion in the Revolution of 1848 Mihai Hossu Lupu lived in the middle of very important events in the history of the Romanians from Transylvania (the national revolution from 1848-1849). He was a native of Chioar district and acted as a tribunes of the Romanian fight legion in the western Carpathians. He was a close friend with Avram Iancu (the leader of the Romanians from the western Carpathian Mountains) and a relative of Ioan Buteanu. Mihai Lupu Hossu had an active collaboration with these two. For his revolutionary activity tribunes Hossu was sentenced to death (sentence remained unexecuted) and had. to endure numerous administrative vexations. But in spite of these he remained an honest intellectual until the end of his life.
