Contribuţii la problema aşezărilor dacice de pe Valea Siretului

  • Subiect: The author presents one the most recent discoveries regarding Dacian settlements along the Siret Valley, the fortress of Bradu - Negri, jud. Bacău. The systematic research of the settlement, which began in 1963 and went on through the excavations in 1964, 1965, 1966 had as result the discovery of a great quantity of ceramics and various things belonging to same ages; the Neolithic age, the Bronze age, Hallstatt, La Tene and the Feudal age. The most important is the settlement from the 2nd and the lst c. B.C. - the lst c. and the beginning of the 2nd c. A.D., represented by a stratum of culture deep of 2 m, which is the subject of this paper. Besides the acropolis, which is strengthened in the accessible part of a defending ditch the settlement stretches about 10 ha towards N.E. The ceramics discovered belong to the three categories known in all Dacian settlements: worked by hand, at wheel and the ceramics of import. Besides ceramics, there were discovered many tools and things of ornament belonging to the period of La Tene III and to the Roman province. The size of the settlement, its strengthening and the intensity of its living in the 2nd and the 1st c. B.C. - the 1st c. and the beginning of the 2nd c. A.D. set the settlement of Bradu side by side of the greatest Dacian fortress of Moldavia: Barboşi, Poiana, Bâtca Doamnei. At the end, the author, having the arguments regarding the localizing of Piroboridava at Poiana - Tecuci and of Tamasidava at Răcătău - jud. Bacău, considers that the settlement of Bradu can be identified with Zargedava. The discovery of Bradu presents a great importance for the knowledge of the material culture of Dacians from Moldavia, in the period of the great flourishing of the Daciann state led by Burebista and Decebal.
