Circulaţia monetară la triburile libere de la răsărit de Carpaţi (sec. II-IV)

  • Subiect: This paper analyses the circulation of the Roman coin from the east of Eastern Carpathians space which was inhabited during the ancient times by the populations of Poieneşti and Sântana de Mureş - Cerneahov cultures (the 2nd - the 4th c. A.D.). In the first chapter of the paper, the ancient historical sources which speak about the mentioned populations are shown (Carpi, Sarmatians, Goths). In the second chapter of this paper a series of archaeological information are added to the tidings about the populations mentioned before. The third chapter treats the economy of the populations from east of Eastern Carpathians, during the 2nd - 4th centuries A.D. Then are reviewed the most important opinions for the problem of the origin of the Roman coins at the tribes between the Carpathians and the Dnieper. Besides trade, Roman coins could penetrate through stipendia, plunders and ransom for captives, too.
