Apartenenţa culturală a necropolei tumulare hallstattiene de la Trinca, jud. Edineţ

  • Subiect: The local cultural fund of the Middle Hallstatt, and, in the first place, the burials, funeral rite and ritual of the communities, which inhabited the North-Moldavian Plateau is virtually unknown. In these circumstances the determination of the cultural affiliation of the Trinca burial was made on the basis of the artefacts, representing the ethno-cultural parameters of the archaeological culture and connected with its ideology and everyday life (decorations, utensils, pottery, ornaments, funeral rites, cult items and so on), which are compared with the realities, discovered in other synchronous necropolis in both the neighbouring zone of the Middle and Upper Dniester basin, Rădăuţi Lowland and in more remote zones - the Carpathian-Danubian region and the forest-steppe zone of the Middle Dnepr. The analysis shows that the features of the burial by the Village of Trinca, are characteristic, on the whole, both of the Late Hallstatt barrow necropolis and of the Early Scythian ones from the Danube to the Dnepr. Alongside with it, the overwhelming majority of them have direct parallels in the burial complexes of the neighbouring territories, inhabited by the communities of the West-Podolian group of sites, which combination is the result of the transformation of the local cultural environment since the beginning of the 7th BC, when the elements of the later Chernolessk culture, which adopted certain Eastern Scythian elements in the second half of the 7th century BC, begin to penetrate in the West Podolian and Fore-Carpathian areas of the developed Gava-Holyhrady culture. The Trinca barrow burial Drumul Feteştilor has a more expressed Hallstatt pattern in comparison with the West Podolian group, on the whole, the Scythian elements are less represented.
