Despre Muzeul de Istorie Bicaz

  • Subiect: The History Museum from Bicaz was founded in 1958 following the proposal made by a group of scientists from the Romanian Academy concerned with the research of the Bistriţa Valley. In the autumn of 1966 it was opened the first permanent exhibition, its theme being drawn around two main subjects: 1. the inhabitation of the Bistriţa Valley from the most ancient times until today and 2. the construction of the hydro energetic complex from Bicaz. The biggest part of the museum’s heritage consists in archaeological materials discovered through the systematic excavations, obtained through donations and acquisitions, their present number reaching 7.964 artefacts. Over the years the specialized personnel of the museum has collaborated to the researches carried out on the excavations fields from Bicaz-Benzinărie and Izvorul Alb, as well as to those from Tazlău-Coborâş. Meanwhile, they also documented and scientifically archived the historical monuments of the area and also attended the visitors of the museum. During the 50 years of its existence the museum’s personnel has participated to various cultural events, close to their colleagues from the Neamţ County Museums Complex.
