Muzeul de Istorie şi Etnografie Târgu Neamţ. Un nou proiect expoziţional

  • Subiect: Between March 2011 and May 2012, the permanent exhibition of Târgu Neamţ Museum of History and Ethnography was reorganized, according with the characteristics of the institution. Part of the exhibit is dedicated to the history and archaeology segment, while the other part is dedicated to the ethnography section. The archaeological testimonies cover a wide chronological interval, beginning with the Upper Palaeolithic and going up in time to the Early Middle Ages, and are representative for the ancient human communities from the North-eastern Neamţ County. Here can be enumerated diverse types of archaeological material, originated from diggings made in important sites, like those of Târpeşti, Petricani, Lunca, Nemţisor, Davideni, Netezi, Cetatea Neamţ. The ethnographical exhibit is thematic ordered and it is committed to presenting the traditional handcrafts and occupations. Numerous pieces of the collection are in connection with wood processing, traditional cloth and traditional costume, but there are illustrated also many other activities, such as shepherding, pottery, blacksmithing. On the occasion of the International Museums Day (May 18th, 2012), the new permanent exhibition was opened, part of the festivity being also the organization of a scientific session, with the participation of archaeologists, museum curators, professors working on different institutions, with which the Museum of History and Ethnography of Târgu Neamţ has collaborated over time.
