Donaţia profesor Vasile Vrânceanu - Târgu Neamţ

  • Subiect: In this article the author presents the school museum’s collection founded by the teacher Vasile Vrânceanu from Târgu Neamţ. This collection was gathered in 1968 and it has archaeological, historical, numismatic, but especially ethnographical objects. Till 2003, all these objects were part of the museum belonging to the School no. 2 ,,Grigore Ghica Vodă” Târgu Neamţ. In 2011, the teacher Vasile Vrânceanu donated this collection to the History and Ethnography Museum from Târgu Neamţ. From more 1800 objects, the most are ethnographic, represented by traditional costumes, vases, tools and accessories, but also objects having a decorative purpose. The ethnographical pieces are iconic for the traditional crafts in the villages of the submountain Neamţ area. The objects with historical value are also very well represented by different types of guns, accessories and tools, which were specific to the 19-20th centuries. The numismatic segment is represented by various banknotes and coins, belonging to countries such as: Russia, Italy, England, Poland, Germany, Georgia, Israel, Ukraine, Austro-Hungary. Few of the pieces (maps, old photos, documents and books) have documentary value. The donation made by the teacher Vasile Vrânceanu to the museum is important because it has a great variety of objects that illustrate different segments of the local history. The most part of these objects has a museological and scientific value and this thing implies a proper utilisation in order to be brought to the public attention.
