  • Subiect: The paper presents a group of archaeological items from the collection of the Târgu Neamţ History and Ethnography Museum. The presentation focuses mainly on some lithic artifacts but there are also brought into discussion bronze, stone and ceramic objects. Typologically, the stone artefacts can be divided in majority of the objects were discovered in the north-eastern part of the Neamţ County (in the Moldavian Subcarpathians) but there are also a couple of pieces from the Botoşani and Suceava County. The stone artefacts, discovered accidentally or as a result of archaeological researches, are important because of their contribution to the understanding of the prehistoric techniques of realising tools or objects with social value. Some of the axes mentioned in this paper are technically very accurate, providing even details encountered on similar metal objects. Some of the axes can be included in the weapons category but can also be interpreted as prestige goods. Similar stone objects can be identified in eastern and southern regions of Romania and in the north-western part of the Black Sea.
