Materiale arheologice din Râmnicul medieval (I)

  • Subiect: The archaeological survey of the territory occupied today by the city of Râmnicu Vâlcea and its surroundings favored a period beginning with prehistory and ending with the Roman presence in the Vâlcea county. From that time until the moment when the city was mentioned in documents for the first time we have a white spot, although there are certified, in the Vâlcea county, earlier findings, such as the Ipoteşti-Cândeşti type, Dridu or pottery from the 11th-12th centuries. The archaeological researches undertaken in 2007 in Râmnicu Vâlcea in “Mircea cel Bătrân” Park brought important information about the history of Râmnicu Vâlcea borough from the beginning of the 13th century to the 18th century.
