  • Subiect: Although it may seem so, the present article is not a review, in the classical sense, of the Monograph of Vâlcea county, a work published in 1981 (Vîlcea, Monograph, Ed. Sports - Tourism, Bucharest, 1980, 350 p. + 48 p. drawings + a color map board, 20 lei). The article, prepared shortly after the publication of the monograph is a critical approach on a particular way to write history, characteristic to a time and some leaders of those times. The article also presents "habits" that have not disappeared either in the period after 1989, and "authors" who still use the same methods. Structured in three parts, the rich material provided by the monograph, determined us publish, in this issue of the magazine, only the parts related to the "Contribution" of the author (s) and the "Respect" for the historical truth. The information about the “Reasons of inspiration” (plagiarism) used for the compilation, will be published in the next issue.
