  • Subiect: The place of the people living in Vâlcea and of Vâlcea in the old Romanian culture, very well known in the history of book, well known for the history of art, completes itself remarkably through this broad approach specific to the founders, to those who were socially arising in the horizon of the first Romanian modernity after 1700, on a folkloric ground from which - I wrote a quarter of a century ago and I repeat it now, more convinced than then - our last centuries, the “classic” one and the ”modern” one came.
