Subiect: The revolutionary wave that swept across Europe in 1848 was the time for the young people in the Romanian Country - many of them returned from studies abroad, those who studied in Paris and even participated in the French Revolution – to organize a revolution. The enthusiasm of many of them was facing with the real situation in the country. It was hard to have cohesion of ideas for those who were part of different political classes. The difficulties were increased by the lack of the material resources and of the people capable for such a mission. They also had no support from the major powers. In addition to all these, there were made many mistakes, too. The biggest mistake was that peasants were not given land, which would have made them support this revolution. Even if the revolution was not a success on the battlefield with immediate effects, on the contrary, it was followed by the Russo-Turkish occupation and the tightening of the regime created by the Organic Regulations, we can say that this revolution also had beneficial effects because it spread among people ideas useful in the process of the emancipation of the Romanian people - the idea of unity, independence and freedom.
