Vila Andreea, Vila Gr. Ţăranu, Vila Administraţiei Băile Govora-judeţul Vâlcea

  • Subiect: ”Andreea Villa” was the first building built on the property of dr. Gr. Ţăranu, in the center of Govora. The villa was built in the late nineteenth century in the local style. This building had housed “The Collection of Archaeology and Religious Art” of the priest Gheorghe Petre since 1972. Currently this collection does no longer exist, as it was demolished (due to unsanitary conditions) in 1978 and in its place it is the current headquarters of the Post. The second building, “dr. Ţăranu Villa”, was designed by the architect Gr. Cerchez in neo style and it is adorned with ornaments of wood. This architectural monument dominates the historic center of the resort today. After nationalization the administrative offices of the resort started functioning in this building. Until 2003 it was “The Town Library” when the building was acquired by the heirs of the last owner. “The Administrative Building “(the old Post Office) designed by the architect Cherez is situated in the historical center of Govora Băi town on the left bank of the Hinţa river.
