Integrarea etnicilor musulmani în România - fesul turcesc în Armata României 1884-1930

  • Subiect: The addition of Dobrogea in Romania was decid ed afterthe Peace Treaty from Berlin (1st June - 1st July 1878), as consequence of Russian-Turkish war, named the Independence War in Romania (1877-1878). The new territory was by far a multiethnic and multiconfessional territory. In order to integrate the new habitants, beneficiai measures were taken, one of them is a positive example even nowadays, especially in the context of Muslim population growing number in Europe: the Muslim soldiers from Romanian Army were allowed to wear the red traditional Turkish hat, according to the High Roya! Decree nr. 2561 from 18th September 1884, instead of the usual headgear of the Army. The provision is maintained in the Uniform Regulationsfrom 1895 and 1912. The Regulationfrom 1930 isn 't mentioning this article on uniforms. As an ethnographic, religious and military item, the Turkish hat added to the military uniform was a beautiful addition in the Romanian Army andin Dobrogea.
