Restaurarea icoanei pe lemn Întâmpinarea Domnului

  • Subiect: The icon on wood Presentation of Jesus at the Temple, inv. no. 778, attributed to Jacov from Răşinari1 and assigned to the middle of the eighteenth century, is part of a series of 14 pieces that have been restored within the ASTRA Centre for Heritage following the project "MUSEJKON A new museum of the icon revitalizes a historical monument building restored in Alba Julia ". Because of the degradation encountered both at the leve! of the frame and at the level of the painting layers, the piece benefitted from an appropriate treatment of restoration carried aut afler physical, chemical and biological investigations.
