Cuptorul pentru ars ceramică cenuşie ştampilată descoperit în aşezarea dacilor liberi de la Panic (jud. Sălaj)

  • Subiect: A pottery kiln for gray stamped vessel from the free Dacian site of Panic During the archaeological excavations of 1983 at the free Dacian site of Panic (town Zălau; Sălaj district) three dwellings and a pottery kiln were discovered. The kiln contained a great amount of vessels. Some of them were hand made, but the majority were made on the potter's wheel. The latter were of gray fine paste, with stamped ornaments, like the pottery produced at Porolissum, the great civil and military center of Dacia Porolissensis. The free Dacian site of Panic is beyond the roman frontier (border), some 15 km away from Porolissum. It is obvious that the pottery type of Panic shows the influence of roman civilization upon the free decans beyond the roman border proper.
