Intervenţiile de restaurare şi investigarea radiologică digitală în cazul unei icoane împărăteşti din patrimoniul administraţiei prezidenţiale Iisus Hristos Pantocrator, flancat de apostoli

  • Subiect: The work comprises the considerations regarding the data resulted through digital radiological investigation and it presents the succession of the restoration interventions in the case of the icon Jesus Christ Pantocrator flanked by the Apostles /rom the collection of the President's Administration, Heritage of the Cotroceni Church. Adherent dirt is present on the entire surface and the varnish is brown. This situation makes it difficult to read the composition and consequently we thought it was necessary to alsa include the radiologic examination among the analyses previous to the restoration intervention, together with the microscopic one or the XRF pigment determination. In the resulting image, the composition was well emphasized and it alsa offered us a series of clues regarding the manufacturing technique and the state of preservation. Subsequent metal/ic elements have also been emphasized and what resulted was a series of information regarding the nature of the used pigments.
