  • Subiect: „In this article there are analyzed the 404 anthropomorphic representations discovered in Cucuteni place, phase A-B from Vorniceni, Ibaneasa bridge, Botosani county. Here there were researched 17 homes and 46 pits with materials. From the total number of pieces 279 are female, 42 are male, for the rest of the pieces not being able to establish the affiliation. From morphology, ornaments, point of view, the anthropomorphic statues from Vorniceni have analogies with a series of discoveries from the area of Cucuteni – Tripolie cultures. The anthropomorphic plastic, generally fragmentary, offers a pretty big variety of statue types, that is explained by a transition to another phase of evolution of Cucuteni culture. The pieces are modeled upon the same ornamental canons, they respect the proportions of human body. The anthropomorphic representations respect the ritual nudity, on the statues being also present pieces of clothing, shoes. The anthropomorphic statues are stylized, sketchy, some of them present a series of particularities. Among the very special pieces there are the two couples of statues found in L1 and in L8 (Fig. 10/1-4), two pieces with cavity and support (Fig. 12/1,3), an anthropomorphic statue type Ianus (Fig. 17/6) and another male one with a spiral little hat (Fig. 15/1). The female anthropomorphic representations are decorated in their most part with incisions that represent rhombus, spirals, triangles. The male ones are garnished with belt, diagonal. The anthropomorphic statues from Vorniceni, classified in the phase A-B1 are tributary to the anterior phase of culture, both regarding the shaping, the morphology of pieces, and the decoration.”
