• Subiect: „The archaeological research at the “Negrilesti – Schoolyard” site, Negrilesti township, Galati County, started in 1981 and resumed in 2007 has signalled the presence of human communities belonging to the Starčevo-Criş culture (Neolithic period). The presence of these types of communities can be observed alongside the basin of the Bârlad River. To illustrate this point, at Trestiana, the archaeological material discovered is similar to the one unearthed at Negrilesti. Furthermore, in 1963, at approximately 6 km from the Negrilesti Site, another archaeological site („Broscărie”) generated archaeological material which belongs to the Starčevo-Criş culture. The current article covers a fraction of the archaeological research undertaken in 2012, at the “Negrilesti – Schoolyard” site (“Pine” point), where a dwelling (L2) dating back to the Neolithic period (Starčevo-Criş culture) was discovered at -1,20 m in the digging unit S8. The dwelling extended to the north of the section which led to the opening of another digging unit (Cas. 3) with the objective of exploring the surface of the dwelling. The archaeological material obtained consisted mainly of pottery and, as a function of this, the current article aims to focus only on the ceramic material unearthed. The ceramic material discovered presents all the characteristics of the Starčevo-Criş culture. The presence of pottery with dichroic and trichroic paint, with motifs drawn in black or reserved from the red background (white assuming a secondary position) and the presence of well-polished bowls characterised by pronounced bitruncation, black or grey in colour, allow the ascription of the L2/2012 dwelling to the IIIB phase of the Starčevo-Criş culture.”
