  • Subiect: „This study start from a recent discovery made in the perimeter of Puieşti, administrative territorial entity, located about 30 km north of the city of Bârlad. Surface, the research area initiated by us in 2014, near the village Iezer, point Ciubota, com. Puieşti had started with a very interesting bowl or a mug and some ceramic fragments that have been provided by Mr Constantin Gherghescu, School Technology Director Puieşti. At the final of the research area in the specified zone were discovered traces of a possible housing area, from which perimeter were collected several pottery fragments, drawn from various wheel-made vessels, from fine or coarse paste, or hand-made. Without doubt the most important piece, which also has generated the research area, is cup fragmentary pottery wheel-made from a very fine pulp, well burned, dark gray to black (basically it is about a layer of verniss black, Pl. II and VI). The cup is bitruncated, having a bottom ring with a wide handle, faceted, but with the top missing. Height, as far as preserved, is 20 cm, width of the vessel in the bitronconism area is maximum 24.4 cm, while the bottom is 9.8 cm. The particulary property of this piece is given, on the one hand by the special shape, extremly well carried, by the extraordinary quality of the clay but also by the scenery carried out on at least three registers. It is possible that on the side surface of the bowl, which is missing, to exist also there, 1-2, records. Regarding the chronological and cultural classification both, cup and discovered pottery fragments belonging to the period of the fourth century p. Chr., respectively to the culture Sântana de Mureş-Černjachov period, extremely well represented in the area.”
